Job overview
We are looking to appoint a well-qualified graduate teacher of Geography, starting in the Spring Term 2015.
An ability to nurture a passion for the subject is essential, as is an interest in pedagogy. Not only will you have high expectations, you will have a desire to make systems work for pupils, rather than pupils work for systems. You will need to respect and enjoy working with young people of all abilities, but will never accept anything from them other than their very best. Not only will you be an impressive teacher with an excellent track record, your passion for your subject will be obvious.
Bede's is a school which places real emphasis on ensuring that pupils have every opportunity to grow and flourish as well-rounded individuals outside of the purely academic arena, and teachers are expected to be fully involved in the life of the school. In return, we offer generous pay scales, an attractive location, and the opportunity to be part of a school which believes that the development of its teachers is critical to the development of its pupils.
Applications are welcome from both experienced and newly qualified colleagues. Bede's is a busy day and boarding school and accommodation might be available. This is a temporary role (until the end of the Academic Year, 2015). However, a permanent position may be available for the right candidate.
