Job overview

We are seeking an outstanding, ambitious and enthusiastic teacher of Geography to join our highly successful department. Geography is the most popular option subject studied at KS4 with over two thirds of the year group taking the subject to GCSE level. In 2014 our students achieved 83% A* - C grades in Geography of which 31% were awarded at A* - A grade. We offer many trips within the department including day trips and residential trips including such as a Year 10 visit to North Wales and a whole school trip to Iceland.

This is an exciting time to join the school as we have just celebrated our best ever set of GCSE results with 76% of students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades (66% including English and Mathematics). 24% of all grades awarded were at A* or A grade. We were judged a good school by Ofsted in 2012 and became an academy in 2013. The school has a strong focus on professional development of its staff and the successful applicant will be ambitious for their own career development as well as for the students in their care.

A position of responsibility or a recruitment and retention allowance may be available for the right candidate.
