About Brislington Enterprise College

Brislington Enterprise College is situated on the edge of the city of Bristol and opened in brand new, state of the art buildings in Sept 2008, structured around seven small learning communities.  We have cutting edge technology delivered through a wireless network and subject specialist facilities that are second to none.

Our core values are

Hope
Trust
Respect
Enterprise and
Ambition

As a Business and Enterprise Specialist college we seek to foster a spirit of adventure in all our students through a curriculum reflective of that ethos.  The curriculum in the year 7 and 8 communities is enquiry based, with students in years 9-11 following a range of learner pathways personalised to their learner needs.

Moving into our new buildings provided us with the opportunity to be transformational; a journey started four years ago, with raising standards being at the core.  Through working closely with the project architects, Construction Company and ICT provider we are fortunate to have a building that is absolutely fit for our educational purpose.  Each small learning community has a student population of approximately 300, supported by 20 adults, thus guaranteeing close working relationships between students and staff.

Our teams are structured around curriculum areas, lead by a Director of Experience, supported by an Assistant Director and team leaders with subject specific responsibilities.  These teams work as cross-curricular teams within the Community Structure.

All staff have Dell Tablet laptops, and all teaching rooms are equipped with projectors.  The college is actively engaged in the pursuit of excellence in e-learning supported by our E-Learning Zone.  This is a 500 square metre area, dedicated to ensuring excellence in the use of new technologies.  Working with the City Learning Centre also housed within the college, students and staff have access to first rate support and equipment with provision at

• 550 mobile devices (laptops etc)
• 110 fixed computers
