Stephenson (MK) Trust is looking to recruit a Teacher of Humanities at Bridge Academy

Bridge Academy is an Alternative Provision Academy providing education for KS3 and KS4 students disengaged from mainstream education throughout Milton Keynes. We pride ourselves on delivering a quality curriculum, truly individualised to meet the needs of our students, ensuring successful outcomes for all.

We require an excellent classroom practitioner with up to date knowledge of issues in teaching and learning, including learning styles and assessment for learning, to deliver Humanities to mixed ability KS3/4 groups. This post is based across 2 of our sites, in Bletchley and Coffee Hall.

Stephenson Academy is a successful 80 place special school, which opened in 2012. It has a main site, which caters for 11-16 year olds. We have an associated independent sixth form provision for 16-19 year olds.

As a specialist academy we cater for students who have Education and Health Care Plans with an identified primary need of Social Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH), many with associated challenging behaviour. Many of our students have additional special educational needs such as speech, language and communication difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and mental health difficulties.
