Teacher of Manufacturing and Product Design: The essentials
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- A relevant teaching qualification - Cert Ed, PGCE, or equivalent
- Proficient with CAD/CAM software
- Significant (minimum of 3 years) teaching experience in this or a related field
- Minimum level 2 qualification in both maths and English
- Previously achieved a minimum of Grade 2 in teaching and learning observation
Teacher of Manufacturing and Product Design: The desirables
- Knowledge of GCSE qualifications delivery
- Experience with interactive teaching tools (eg, Apple technology) during course delivery
- Safeguarding, equality and diversity qualifications
- Experience in providing IAG
Teacher of Manufacturing and Product Design: The role
- Apply computer aided and manual methods to the manufacturing and product design process
- Plan and teach GCSE Manufacturing
- Design and develop the curriculum in an innovative and engaging way
- Prepare high quality schemes of work and lesson plans
- Monitor and evaluate student performance
- Support, guide and mentor students to ensure completion of qualifications
- Keep up to date with changes in policy and best practice
- Successful candidates will be subject to DBS checks
- Job based in Sunderland
- Salary of between £28k-£35k (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Working week of 39 hours
