Stretford High is a non-selective, 11-16 Co Educational International School. The school is an outstanding ITT provider (MMU), holds Consultant School Status and works in partnership with Lancashire County Cricket Club and Manchester United Foundation. We are committed to ensuring that the young people we have a privilege to work with are prepared for a changing world. The school is situated in between Old Trafford Football and Cricket Grounds at the gateway to the City of Manchester and is adjacent to a College of Further Education. It is located close to the city metro link and is a short distance from the prestigious Media City development.

To help us to achieve this goal we try to balance academic work with a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, and we value sporting and cultural achievement equally. We are looking for enthusiastic graduates to teach across the school to GCSE level. The successful candidates will be appointed to raise achievement through consistently good or better teaching to ensure that young people leave Stretford High School with the necessary skills and qualifications to be able to succeed. Candidates should share the common values of the school, be dedicated, organised and totally committed to raising achievement. The school is particularly interested in candidates who work collaboratively, innovatively and who give their time and energy to leading co-curricular activities.

What are we looking for:

  • Hold a relevant first degree/equivalent with PGCE and QTS or education degree/equivalent & QTS.
  • Have evidence of skills in engaging, motivating and inspiring young people aged 11-16 and adults to learn.
  • Have evidence of skills in accelerating learning, coaching teaching, managing informative and laser like assessment.
  • Have an outstanding teaching track record/or promising ITT performance
  • Share our common values.

Stretford High School is a non-selective 11-16 School based in the selective Local Authority of Trafford. The School serves a richly diverse local community and is recognised for its excellent practice supporting vulnerable students. The delivery of a broad and rich Curriculum ensures that students access learning which is relevant and in the best interests for all.
