Fylde Coast Academy Trust welcomes applicants for the post of Teacher of Mathematics at Blackpool Aspire Academy, a newly sponsored secondary Academy with a proposed opening date of 1st September 2014.

We are in an exceptional location not far from the Ribble Valley, Lake District and stunning Fylde coast. The vibrant cities of Manchester and Liverpool are both within easy reach.

Aspire Academy Blackpool
As part of the Fylde Coast Academy Trust, Aspire Academy will benefit from the expertise, experience and commitment of two of the Fylde's most successful educational organisations, Blackpool Sixth Form College and Hodgson Academy as well as strong links with the Fylde Coast Teaching School Alliance. The Academy is in an exciting period of development as work commences on a £10m new building with state of the art facilities opening in September 2015.

The key focus for us all within the Academy is to raise standards, and in particular those of external performance measures. The successful candidate will play a huge part in ensuring that performance within Mathematics at least meets expected outcomes.

The Candidate
We are looking for candidates whose dynamism, commitment, energy, professional expertise and experience qualify them to take on this exciting role. The successful candidate will be academically able, a developing practitioner, and therefore colleagues just joining the profession, or relatively inexperienced will be more than welcome. They will strongly support our fundamental belief in working together to achieve our goals and the child centred ethos in which everyone is encouraged to be successful and "Aspire to be the best we can be". This post presents excellent professional development opportunities. You should consider the following: Are you forward thinking? Would you like to work with a team that puts every child at the forefront of their teaching? If you are prepared to embrace new ideas and initiatives to enable every child to succeed, then this exciting opportunity is there for you.

The Role
To teach Mathematics to pupils in years 7-11. Mathematics at Blackpool Aspire Academy is taught in a suite of 6 classrooms, and the department has its own 60 computer ICT suite.

Pay and Conditions
In line with the Academy pay policy, the successful candidate will be paid on the appropriate point on the teacher scale based upon experience and qualifications.
