A thriving, high achieving and enjoyable department to work in - 93% A*-C and 36% A*-A at GCSE in June 2013. The John Fisher Mathematics Department is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to teach students across a broad ability range. A substantial number of students take A-level Mathematics or Further Mathematics, with A-level teaching available for suitable candidates.

The candidate will join a dedicated and talented department, who have delivered outstanding results in recent years. The department also has a substantial enrichment programme on offer, including sixth form peer mentoring, AQA Further Maths qualification available for able KS4 students and regular visits to enrichment days and lectures. We would be keen to hear from candidates who could add to this programme.

The department has six dedicated teaching rooms, with an office with space for intervention groups. Each teaching room is fully equipped with interactive white boards and audio-visual equipment.

John Fisher is an oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school with 1155 students including 223 in the Sixth Form. We are located just outside Purley town centre and a 15 minute walk from the train station (27 minutes from London Bridge and 20 minutes from Gatwick Airport).
