What we have to offer:

We have a lively supportive team who will help you develop quickly.

We have always had a fully staffed Mathematics Department made up entirely of specialist Maths teachers: testament to the Department's popularity is the fact that ITTs working with us choose to apply for jobs here.

Staff like our warm, welcoming spacious Maths Office Resource area where each teacher has their own desk in a 'conference room-like' set-up. The atmosphere in here breathes teaching and learning development.

Teaching Mathematics across the Key Stage 3 and 4 age and ability range using a successful non-text book approach based upon our own in-house produced Teacher Resource files. Discussion in the classroom is central to our philosophy of helping students understand the mathematics they are doing, and investigative approaches are considered important.

We have a proven track record for examination success at KS3, GCSE and A-Level.

We are very well resourced, and we are a well organised Team.

The school has a special support centre for students with physical and sensory disabilities.

All staff have use of a laptop, and each of our nine main classrooms has Promethean ActivInspire IWB technology and a sound system; you will be based in one of these rooms.

Angmering has a comprehensive CPD programme which recognises the needs of all new teachers.

The Angmering School is a co-educational school based in West Sussex for students aged 11-18. It is a non-denominational school.

One of the school’s unique features is the fact it provides the opportunity for students to study more than one language. Students will also follow a “Futures” course which aims to develop attributes and skills for learning through real world challenges, such as running a cafe or fundraising for charity.

Values and vision

The Angmering School aims to work with students to encourage involvement in the wider community through things such as sports leadership at local primary and special schools.

The school also works with its locality group of primary schools to ensure smooth transitions for its students from Year 6 to 7, because it views this as crucial to their development.

At the school, it is also often believed that teaching and learning innovation often starts in PE and sport. Indeed, it is believed that PE and sport are central to establishing what the school deems to be its ethos of high expectations.

Ofsted

“This is an improving school. Students achieve well, gaining better-than-average GCSE results. Results have gone up considerably since the last inspection, particularly in English. Teaching is good with some outstanding practice. Teachers are enthusiastic and have good subject knowledge. Their strengths include their good use of questioning to check students’ progress.”
