We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational teacher with a real passion for mathematics to join our thriving and improving department from January 2015 or sooner.

Winchcombe School is a small mixed comprehensive (11-16) with fewer than 500 students on roll. The school is set in the area of outstanding natural beauty of the Cotswold Hills.

 In 2014, the school achieved 76% A*- C for GCSE mathematics. The vision of the maths department is to inspire a love of mathematics in all our students.

Currently we offer GCSE Mathematics, GCSE Statistics, Additional Mathematics, Edexcel Level 2 and 3 Algebra and Statistics, AS Mathematics and Entry Level Certificate.

There will also be a requirement to teach computing at KS3, for which full training will be given if required.

Our mathematics and computing departments consistently strive for improvement and we offer outstanding professional development opportunities within the subject areas and the school. The successful candidate will be required to teach across the full age and ability range of the school and will need to be confident in the application of new technologies.

There will also be opportunities to contribute to new schemes of work. The right candidate will be willing to take on responsibility for whole school numeracy and outreach work as part of their normal day-to-day activities.

The Department has excellent facilities with interactive whiteboards in every classroom, projectors and a dedicated mathematics IT suite.

Winchcombe School is a mixed secondary school for children aged 11-16. Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, the school was formerly a foundation school but converted to academy status in June 2011. There are less than 500 students on the school roll.

The facilities on offer at Winchcombe School are continually being improved and land has been acquired adjacent to the school to nearly double the size of the school playing fields. Other enhancements in recent times have included the extension and refurbishment of the school hall and an overhaul of its computer network structure to facilitate the delivery of the latest ICT technologies to pupils.
