Neil McKnight

Values and vision

The school is committed to providing opportunities for the development of pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural values through both the ethos and the curriculum. This is undertaken in partnership with parents and takes account of the individual needs of pupils and the views of parents. The school welcomes and encourages diversity and individuality, while emphasising a common commitment to moral values such as honesty, respect for others, compassion and justice.

Tarbert Academy’s positive, nurturing community aims to give every primary stage child a positive induction to learning. Activities and experiences are designed with the individual in mind so that they will move through the system and become successful, self-assured, effective and confident in whatever they choose to do in life.

Inspection Report

“At the secondary stages, the school has effective approaches to tracking and monitoring young people’s progress. The headteacher provides very strong and effective leadership. This has resulted in raised standards, improved learning and teaching methodologies, and increased attainment and achievement.”
