Teacher of Maths (Learning Coach), Walsall

NQTs and experienced Teachers are welcome to apply

We are looking to recruit highly talented, creative and inspirational teachers to join our small team of outstanding educators pioneering our new school and sixth form.

Is this post right for you?

Would you like to teach in a brand new innovative school of no more than 300 students?

Would you be motivated in a school where small class sizes of around 15 combined with personalised approaches to learning enable you to effectively challenge all students to reach their potential?

Would you appreciate flexibility in taking some annual leave outside of traditional school holidays?

Are you an outstanding teacher looking to be part of a team of pioneers establishing the Black Country's first and only Studio School?

Are you ready for this new challenge starting in September 2014?

Learning Coaches are responsible for curriculum delivery through both subject specific lessons and multidisciplinary enterprise themed core projects. They prepare students for qualifications and observe students' performance and development in order to support personal coaches to assess individual student's needs and monitor progress. An ability to contribute to both the core curriculum and one or more of the wider school specialisms including Business, IT Digital Media and Performing Arts / Live Events would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be provided with the training and support to embrace project-based learning and a team approach to delivery within our brand new school.

Walsall Studio School based in the Black Country, West Midlands opened in September 2013 and is one of the first of its kind in the United Kingdom.

Studio Schools are small schools of around 300 students and have been designed to help 14-19 year olds better prepare for the world of work as well as further and higher education.

Walsall Studio School is sponsored by The Vine Trust Walsall, a Community Development Trust that is actively engaged in economic, environmental and social regeneration. The organisation is structured to run an inclusive mix of services and facilities, which respond to the needs of the local and regional communities.

Walsall Studio School's key educational partner is Queen Mary's Grammar School, Walsall, founded in 1554 by Mary Tudor. An outstanding school, Queen Mary's is known for its academic focus, international ethos, enterprising spirit and a sense of community.
