Our Vision

Our vision for Sewell Park College is a school at the heart of the community we serve, working for it, and in partnership with it, to promote excellence and support our students to realise their dreams.

We want a school which offers alternative pathways through education and training, which produces young people who are independent learners, creative thinkers and skilled communicators; confident citizens of the future able to grasp the opportunities offered through further education and compete successfully in the world of work.

Above all we want our students to experience the joy of learning and the sense of self-worth which comes with achievement.

In order to realise our vision we will

• value all members of the local school community, enhancing equality, regardless of gender, age, race or religion;

• strive for excellence by recognising, appreciating and celebrating all forms of achievement;

• provide appropriate curriculum opportunities tailored to individual needs and make learning fun;

• nurture a lifelong love of learning, encouraging students to explore and consider how their experiences at Sewell Park College can prepare them for success in our fast changing world;

• develop a sense of citizenship and social awareness, enabling our students to communicate with and respect other people;

• build partnerships with the wider community including local employers;

• provide a highly skilled and qualified staff team and a modern learning environment;

Students join us at the age of 12 from middle school (or 11 in the year 2007-8) and most, we hope, will stay with us for six years as they take advantage of the excellent further educational opportunities offered by our Kett Sixth Form Centre.
