Required with effect from 1st January 2015, a motivated and well-qualified specialist graduate teacher with the vision to deliver high standards of teaching and learning in Music and Drama. Furthermore, you will make a full contribution to the ethos, identity and life of the school and to the Guernsey Federation of Secondary Schools.

We are inviting applications from full-time staff who can offer both Music and Drama or part-time staff who can offer one of the above subjects.

Employed by the States of Guernsey and based at the Guernsey Grammar School and Sixth Form Centre, you will be required to maximise opportunities for collaborative working, teaching and learning across Key Stages and shared professional development across schools.There is an expectation that you will engage in cross-school initiatives which may require working on more than one site to meet the needs of the Education Service.

You will teach at KS3 with the opportunity to teach at GCSE and/or A level. We are looking for someone who is able to challenge students and is passionate about raising their individual achievements with innovative ideas to build on existing good practice.

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Music and Drama departments which are well resourced and successful. Both subjects are highly regarded across the school and are key contributors to the extra-curricular calendar. Drama students deliver several public performances each year and musicians perform at all prize-giving events, carol services, school musicals and the spring concert.You should be able to commit to this programme of extra-curricular events and ensembles, including wind bands, orchestras, choirs and chamber groups.

Music and Drama are part of the core curriculum at KS3 and 4 and there are currently students taking AS and A level courses in Music and Theatre Studies.This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and ambitious teacher to make a significant contribution.

This post carries a five year housing licence and you can expect to:

Salary will be in accordance with the Guernsey Main Professional Scale £28,534 - £40,972 per annum.There is also an Upper Pay Scale for teachers who have successfully gone through the Threshold Assessment.
