The Howard School has several opportunities for experienced and newly qualified teachers of Photography/Graphics. If you are starting your career or looking for a role with potential responsibility, please read on.

Our academic results are outstanding. The Howard is the only non-selective school in Medway that has consecutively achieved over 60% 5 A* - C grades including English and Maths at GCSE. 2013 has seen the school improve yet again with our average point score at 6th form up by 18 points, the highest it has ever been. We remain one of the best performing non-selective schools in the South East.

Photography/Graphics is very popular at The Howard School with many students opting for these subjects at GCSE and A level. The academic results achieved in Photography are among the best at The Howard, 82% of students achieving A* to C, with over 60% leaving sixth form with A*, A or B. The successful candidate should possess excellent Photoshop skills for the manipulation of digital imagery and be a confident IT user. All applicants would be expected to demonstrate their skills in Adobe Photoshop with a portfolio of their own work. Having an ability to teach, and understanding the requirements of either Photography or Graphic Design at A-level would be an advantage. The department works together in a supportive way to ensure that children will achieve their potential. This is reflected in comments made in our last Ofsted report

'We are a good school focused on achieving exceptional results in education'.

'We are a good school with high staff morale'(Ofsted November 2013).

We value our teachers and we actively support their professional development. You will have access to on-going professional development including NCSL accredited courses. A level teaching may also be available for a suitable candidate. If you are looking to extend your experience or are in the early years of teaching and would be interested in joining our team, we would be delighted to hear from you. We offer an extremely attractive and very competitive financial package.
