Values and vision

The Hummersknott Academy Trust is committed to providing outstanding, inclusive learning for all students regardless of their ability. Success is built upon partnership between parents, pupils, staff, local community groups and global link schools. The aim is to develop every aspect of the people within the school community so that they can live successful and fulfilled lives.

Hummersknott Academy has been a specialist language college since 2005. The curriculum is flexible and aimed at making sure all pupils have choice and can succeed. The secondary school offers five languages because it believes that, in an increasingly global economy, language skills will be essential in later life.

Ofsted report

“The achievement of students is good and continues to improve rapidly because of the successful and relentless drive by governors and senior leaders to increase the proportion of good and outstanding teaching. The thirst for excellence that leaders show in all aspects of the academy’s work is outstanding.”
