Job overview
Teacher of Religious Studies, Birmingham
Swanshurst is a very successful and innovative school for girls with 1,760 students on roll aged 11-19 years. We are part of a strong Training School Alliance.
Ofsted (2013) found Swanshurst to be "a good school where the proportion of students who achieve five good GCSE grades at A*-C is above average" recognising that "students show a good level of mutual respect for each other and their teachers" and also that "most lessons proceed at a fast pace and this ensures that students learn quickly and make good, and sometimes outstanding progress".
We are looking for a well-qualified and committed teacher to join our RS department.
This post would suit either an NQT or a more experienced classroom practitioner who has an interest in or experience of teaching A level. RS is a strong department, regularly delivering high quality results.
Applications are encouraged from teachers who are in sympathy with the philosophy of the department and have an innovative approach to the subject.
Closing Date: Wednesday 30 April 2014, 12 noon

Applicants requesting an online application form must submit their completed and signed application to the school by post and not by electronic transfer.
