We are currently seeking a teacher of Philosophy & Religious Studies to join our large and well resourced A level team. Applicants should be suitably qualified with a good honours degree and ideally with a teaching qualification. Delivery will involve teaching on A level programmes. Applicants who are able to offer a further subject specialism may be able to increase their contracted hours.

Candidates should be highly committed and motivated to achieve high standards in teaching and learning as well as prepare students for exams. Please see course details below:

Philosophy

Seevic College follows the AQA philosophy course, which is distinct from Religious Studies, and is designed to develop a range of transferable skills which enable students to develop the ability to reason, form their own judgement, express themselves coherently and contribute to the process of debate.

The units which are currently studied include:

AS: Reason & Experience, Persons, Knowledge of the External World and Free Will & Determinism

A2: Philosophy of Mind, Epistemology & Metaphysics and The Republic as a set text

Religious Studies

The Religious Studies course that is followed at Seevic College is the OCR syllabus focusing on the Philosophy of Religion and Religious Ethics units.
