Vision and values

Queen Elizabeth’s main aim is to empower students to enjoy the art of learning. It strives to create a community of smart, educated and successful young people who will be global citizens in a 21st-century world. Teachers believe education and hard work are integral to success and their two principles are "education to empower" and "always progressing".

The curriculum emphasises the core subjects of English, maths, science, PE, RE and personal development, as well as the humanities. Extra-curricular activities are encouraged, especially the expressive arts, technology and sports. The school’s outdoor programme includes Ten Tors and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

Ofsted report

“The curriculum is a strength and students appreciate the wide range of courses on offer, and in particular the breadth of additional activities. These include sport, performance, adventure and cultural activities and make a very strong contribution to students’ good spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.”
