Overview of the role

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be a part of a team that will be shaping a Department from its near foundation and to establish a new culture in a brand new 11-18 school which opened September 2012. You will be working with a pioneering group, Nishkam School Trust, which is a flagship DfE Free School, and the first multi-academy free school trust in the UK.

The Role

Teaching Science education across Key Stages 3 - 5 (including GCSE and preferably A-level), with the opportunity for leadership development for the right candidate. You will have the opportunity to be innovative, creative and participate in recruiting colleagues to support your vision. Alongside building the Department you will be involved in establishing the whole School, taking responsibility for tutoring and shaping the enrichment programme.

The role of the Teaching Team will evolve during the first five years as the School grows. In Year 3 your Department will begin to grow until it reaches full capacity in Year 5, your management responsibilities will grow with the Department structure. You will play a key role in shaping the Department and staff recruitment and mentoring.

You will be:

• A graduate with QTS (desirable)
• An outstanding, innovative and dedicated classroom practitioner with a proven record in raising standards and attainment
• Able to inspire pupils to go beyond their expectations with a real passion for your subject
• A creative and inventive professional, committed to being a positive role model for children
• Enthusiastic about contributing to the wider life of the School
• Currently be working in either the private or state school system
