Job overview

Carlton Bolling is a school with improving results. Behaviour and the positive attitude of students is a major strength of the school, as well as small class sizes and a commitment to supporting staff and developing their practice. Improvements have been a result of the high expectations that the school sets at all levels, which will be further enhanced by the new building which is scheduled to be completed in 2016.

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, innovative, and highly skilled Science Teacher who will motivate and excite young people, raising their expectations and turn students with promise into skilful learners.

The Science Faculty has produced the best results ever at KS4 and KS5 over the past few years and we seek a colleague who will work relentlessly to improve and build on these results. The ability to develop strong Teaching and Learning strategies and ensure sustained improvements are a vital ingredient for this post. Currently the faculty offers GCSE courses in Triple Science, Science A, Additional and BTEC. We also offer AS and A2 in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

This exciting opportunity will enable the successful candidate to develop an excellent foundation for future leadership roles.

If you think this might be the role for you, please contact Cheryl Cathcart at Carlton Bolling College for an information pack and an application form.

Pupils and staff work together within a harmonious community, where they are fully supported”: Ofsted, November 2017. I am very proud to work alongside established teachers, leaders and staff with a proven track record in delivering high quality learning with excellent outcomes for students. We offer bespoke and regular CPD opportunities that are linked to career stage; this ensures our best teachers are given development opportunities for future leadership roles. Our ITT, NQT and Teach First development programmes are robust, fit for purpose and lead to a significant number of trainees securing permanent jobs with us.
