We wish to recruit an ambitious, hard-working Teacher of Science who will thrive in an energetic and fast-paced environment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to join our dynamic and successful Science team.

The successful candidate will:

  • be an outstanding teacher, well-qualified to teach Science at Key Stage 3 and 4
  • have the opportunity to teach KS5 (dependant on person appointed and subject specialism)
  • be capable of inspiring students through their passion for the subject
  • review student progress and put into place effective strategies to improve performance
  • enjoy the benefits of working with a thriving and successful Science team
  • be an excellent team player with the skills and desire to help the school on its rapid journey towards becoming 'Good' and subsequently 'Outstanding'.

Previously known as The Wye Valley School, Bourne End Academy adopted its current moniker following its conversion to academy status in 2014, the school is now a part of the Wycombe High School Academies Trust. With around 600 pupils aged 11-18 in a co-educational setting, Bourne End Academy is smaller than the average secondary school of its type. In terms of intake, the school has a higher than average number of students with Special Educational Needs, with the school providing a specially resourced unit for students with Autism.

The school offers a wide range of subjects, both vocational and academic, and strives to create a structured and disciplined learning environment, the school sets high standards for both behaviour and uniform, and is not shy about encouraging its students to work independent and properly guide their own learning. Aside from their academic studies, Bourne End also strives to equip students with the necessary life skills to become responsible adults, with the proper emotional and social intelligence.
