Swindon Academy, are looking to appoint an exceptional teacher of Science to join them in January 2015.

Swindon Academy opened in September 2007 with a commitment to raise standards and create new opportunities for generations of students in Swindon. The academy has made incredible progress since opening, with a growing reputation in the local community for high expectations, an innovative curriculum, and firm discipline.

Swindon Academy's recent Ofsted report confirmed that, "the Executive Principal, Secondary Principal and Primary Principal are visionary in their approach and work with a relentless determination to bring about rapid improvement. They have clearly communicated their vision to the staff, who are working with commitment and enthusiasm to move the academy forward." (Ofsted, January 2013.)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and ambitious colleague to join our successful Science team. Science is a leading department in the Academy, enjoying the benefits of our dual specialisms in Science and Business Enterprise and exciting partnerships with Honda and Marlborough College. We have a successful Science department offering a range of qualifications. At Key Stage 4, we offer Double Award Science and Vocational Courses. In the Sixth Form, we offer a full suite of A Level courses and BTEC Level 3 Science.

The person appointed will be an exceptional teacher of Science who is passionate about working with young people of all abilities. They will prepare carefully, deliver with enthusiasm and drive, and assess in detail. They will be confident to teach Chemistry at GCSE and A Level. As well as welcoming applications from experienced teachers, the school can offer an excellent support network and induction programme for Newly Qualified Teachers who are committed to helping young people realise their potential.

When Swindon Academy opened in September 2007, it was the first 0 - 19 Academy in the country. We now operate from two sites, one in Pinehurst (Nursery - Sixth Form) and one in Penhill (Nursery - Year 6). Swindon Academy is proud to be able to provide excellent teaching facilities on both sites. The state-of-the-art facilities in the new building at Beech Avenue must be seen to be believed!
