This is a fantastic opportunity for a enthusiastic individual to join our Discovery Zone at Walkden High School.
We moved into our beautiful new building in September 2011. At the same time the school moved to a zonal model for the curriculum where ICT and Business Studies joined with Science (Biology, Chemistry & Physics) to form the Discovery Zone.
This is an incredibly exciting time in Walkden's development. You will join a committed team of scientists and will play a key part in not only gaining excellent results for our students, but also in enthusing them about science.
The successful applicant will be required to teach all abilities from Year 7 to GCSE.
In October 2013 we were inspected by OFSTED and gained a 'Requires Improvement' grading. This follows a Satisfactory grading in 2011. What is different this time around is that we are on the cusp of Good with our achievement & progress measures all moving in a positive direction.
