With around 2,000 students, we are the largest school in the North East, however despite our size we pride ourselves on retaining a family atmosphere and in ensuring that we cater for the needs of all our students, recognising their special gifts or talents.

We are seeking an outstanding and inspiring science teacher to join our department teaching across key stages 3, 4 and 5.

Candidates must possess successful training or teaching practice underpinned by a broad base of subject knowledge and teaching and learning strategies. The post is part-time working Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

In return we offer the opportunity to work in our fantastically resourced department in our purpose-built PFI school building, based on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne with easy access for commuting from the A1.

Vision and values

Outstanding teaching and learning for all students, so that knowledge is embedded and disadvantage is not a barrier to learning. All students reach their potential, so that they are well placed for life beyond school. Ensuring confident, happy and resilient students, who treat others with compassion and respect.

Ofsted report

“The school’s work to promote the spiritual, moral, social and cultural education of pupils and to prepare them for life in modern Britain is also a real strength. Pupils discuss current affairs regularly through the systematic personal, social and health education (PSHE) curriculum.”
