An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic teacher of Science to join the school's supportive team of dedicated staff. The post is suitable for an NQT or an experienced Science teacher wishing promotion as there are opportunities to join the leadership of the school for a suitable candidate. The school prides itself on personalised professional development and will offer an appropriate and extensive support or development package.

It is a very exciting time to be joining Regents Park and the Science department. The recent results indicate improvement within the department; we are looking for someone to join a young, enthusiastic team to push the results further.

The department are involved with exciting projects outside the school including 'Stimulating Physics' with the Institute of Physics, 'LifeLab' at Southampton General Hospitals and work with IBM and Southampton University

Regents Park was judged to be in 'special measures' in the last full inspection in July 2013. Since the inspection the school has received positive HMI visits [see enclosed], the fantastic 2013 GCSE results of 67% 5 A* - C including English and Maths placed Regents Park as number two in the league table of similar schools and ranked number one secondary school in Southampton. The 2014 results showed sustained progress with the school receiving

66% 5A* - C including English and Maths.

The school has benefited from a positive change in school ethos, a new senior management structure and the sustained support of Bitterne Park Teaching School team including their headteacher, Mrs Susan Trigger, becoming executive headteacher.

Regents Park is experiencing a period of rapid change. The school is now fully co-educational following a long and distinguished history as a girls' school. At this time Regents Park is an exciting and stimulating place to work. The post will provide a challenge, for those willing take it on comes the very highest level of job satisfaction.

 Regents Park is an over- subscribed mixed 11-16 school in the heart of Shirley, Southampton, currently placed in the top three schools in Hampshire and Southampton for the outstanding academic progress that we achieve.

Regents Park has celebrated another year of fantastic exam results.

Progress 8 score +0.36

4th consecutive year of positive progress scores well above national average.
This shows we make excellent progress across the whole curriculum 

English +0.54

 Students achieve over half a grade higher in English than the national average 

Maths +0.17

 Students achieve better in maths than in the national average 

40% Grade 5 or above in English and maths
6% improvement on 2107 results and 4% above local authority average
