Fullbrook is a mixed 11-18 Academy classified by Ofsted in April 2013 as Good. It is an oversubscribed school with high expectations for all students. In 2013, 78% achieved 5 or more A*-C including English and Maths.

As a teacher of Science at Fullbrook you would be joining a forward thinking Faculty where more than 80% of students achieve A* to C at GCSE in Sciences. A Level Science courses are popular in the Sixth Form. The Faculty consists of an innovative and dynamic team who are dedicated to raising achievement and providing students with an outstanding Science education. In April 2013 OfSTED classified the school as Good.

The post is suitable for someone who is a team player, has vision, can take the initiative and for experienced applicants has a proven track record of achieving outstanding results. The successful applicant will need to have enthusiasm, drive, commitment and excellent organisation skills to assist in the development of this department to meet the current and future needs of our students. AS or A Level teaching experience would give an advantage.

This post would be suitable for an excellent teacher wishing to broaden their experience, or an ambitious and dynamic NQT. An enhanced remuneration package is available for the suitable candidate.

You will:

  • Have a passion for teaching Science and have the potential to inspire students with a wide range of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Plan and prepare Schemes of Learning and innovative lessons.
  • Insist on a commitment from all young people to achieve success and have the ability to motivate students with a focus on maximising student attainment.
  • Be a team player who is willing to contribute to the ethos of the faculty, including participating in extra-curricular and enrichment opportunities for students.
  • Be willing to share resources and good practice.
  • Be able to teach Science successfully across a range of abilities at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The possibility of some A Level teaching exists for a suitable candidate.
