Required for September 2014 a committed and enthusiastic qualified Teacher of the Deaf to manage the Hearing Impaired Resource Provision at Stephenson Lower School, including a team of 5 Educational Communicators.

Stephenson Lower School will convert to a Primary school in September 2014 and the HI Provision will be part of this exciting new venture. The post will also involve supporting a small caseload of hearing impaired pupils in the wider community.

We welcome applications for the post from candidates who have high aspirations for hearing impaired pupils, have the skills to lead and manage an excellent team of Educational Communicators and who can work collaboratively and in partnership with the school. Sign language skills at a minimum Level 1 are an essential requirement along with experience of working with pupils with hearing impairment for a minimum of 3 years, preferably within a Resource Provision or other Specialist setting. Visits to the school are welcome. There is a possibility of a TLR dependent upon knowledge and experience.

The post is currently 0.7fte, however, there may be the possibility of extra hours.
