LBBD is committed to providing the highest quality education and personal support to pupils referred to its Specialist Alternative Provision Service (SAPS). Ensuring this requires the contribution of exceptional teachers to all of its individual services.

The Seabrook Centre caters for up to 35 pupils with complex BSED needs who require intervention before moving on to a permanent placement. It has recently moved into newly refurbished premises. The provision together with the borough's PRU was judged as good by Ofsted in November 2013.

Teachers at the Centre are expected to teach small groups of pupils (sometimes 1:1) with complex SEBD needs across a range of subjects and year groups with a focus on basic literacy and numeracy.

We are keen to appoint staff, to help take the Seabrook Centre forward, who has:

  • A passion for education and a positive unconditional regard for all young people especially those who need second chances
  • Experience of and expertise in teaching and developing the potential of pupils with challenging behaviour and emotional issues.
