Ashby School is a thriving, successful and over-subscribed 14-19 Academy situated in the market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire. We have over 1700 students on roll including 600 in the Sixth Form. Progress at Ashby School was recently described as being 'overwhelmingly good' by Ofsted.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational teacher with a passion for their subject and the ability to enthuse and engage students across the full age and ability range. Our students are encouraged to develop a lifelong passion for, and appreciation of, the arts as both participants and discriminating audiences. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated professional to work with students towards achieving this goal.
The post is suitable for either a newly qualified or more experienced teacher aspiring to contribute to the success of the school and who is keen to join a dedicated department striving to raise academic achievement. Empowering Learning
At Ashby School, we have a passion for learning.
All students are given every opportunity to achieve their academic potential, supported by high standards of teaching. The majority of Year 10 and 11 lessons take place in specialist and/or refurbished classrooms on our dedicated KS4 campus.
Students of all abilities are encouraged to aim high.
Academic extension activities such as after school study sessions run all year round. We offer a rich and vibrant programme of extra-curricular activities, including an active performing arts scene, several musical ensembles, and numerous sporting clubs and competitions for young sportsmen and women of all abilities.
Other options include the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, peer mentoring and educational visits.

That is why we strive to ensure every student gets the support they need. Form Tutors establish strong relationships with students, guiding them through any issues and carefully monitoring their academic and personal progress. Form Tutors are supported by a dedicated pastoral team, including Heads of Year and Year Tutors, who are experienced at dealing with issues such as health, attendance and behaviour.
