Positions 1 & 2: Reception Year, 8.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m., 20 hours per week, term time only

Positions 3 & 4: Reception Year, 12.30 p.m. - 3.30 p.m., 15 hours per week, term time only

Position 5: Year 6, 8.30 a.m. - 12.00 noon, 17.5 hours per week, term time only

St Edward's is a large, friendly, caring school with high standards and expectations. Governors are looking to appoint six SEN Part-Time Teaching Assistants to work with three specific children, with Statements of SEN, in Reception Year and Year 6.

We are looking for teaching assistants who:

  • are experienced in supporting pupils with learning difficulties;
  • are enthusiastic, confident and able to show initiative;
  • are effective communicators with pupils and staff;
  • possess good literacy and numeracy skills;
  • are able to deal with a child's physical, medical, emotional and behavioural needs;
  • have a good sense of humour.

You would be expected to:

  • work under direct supervision by the class teacher and at times be expected to use your own initiative to organise activities and tasks;
  • use initiative and contribute to creating a stimulating and purposeful learning environment;
  • work in partnership with other teaching assistants;
  • support the class teacher in planning differentiated work for the pupil;
  • create simple resources to support the pupil's work, as appropriate;
  • attend INSET days and training as identified by the Head Teacher.
