Maes Ebbw School caters for children with severe learning difficulties and some children have profound and multiple difficulties.
The school has 151 pupils on roll whose age range is from 3-19 years. The school structure comprises of Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary (post 16).
The school is involved in Newport Authority's inclusion programme and also works closely with other professionals, including physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to work 31 hours15 minutes per week, 39 weeks per year (term-time only). Holidays must be taken during school holiday periods.
Experience of working with pupils with additional educational needs is essential.
The post will be offered initially on a fixed fixed term contract until 31st March 2015 to commence as soon as possible.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
