Teaching Assistant Level 3, Caerphilly

Full time 32.5 hours per week

The Governing Body of Ysgol Gymraeg Penalltau is seeking to appoint a dynamic, dedicated and flexible Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support learning in our Welsh-Medium Foundation Phase classes. Candidates will be required to have NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent.

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate a positive attitude towards the development and growth of the school,
• Work under the guidance of, and with the Teaching and Senior Staff to implement agreed programmes of work
• Support the teacher in preparing and organising resources
• Cover whole classes during the short- term absence of teachers
• To support class teachers with assessment procedures
• Encouraging positive behaviour in our children and assisting them in achieving high standards and enjoyment of learning;
• To support pupils to acquire a strong grasp of the Welsh language;
• To understand and have prior experience of the Foundation Phase curriculum and practice

Ysgol Gymraeg Penalltau is a Welsh medium school.

The ability to speak and write Welsh fluently is essential.
