Job overview

We are looking to recruit a teaching assistant to work as part of our staff team to support learning as soon as possible.  Initially, this will be within Key Stage 1.

Do you have a passion for working with young people? Do you have proven success at leading and supporting programmes to accelerate learning? 

The post is for 30 hours per week, spread over 5 days, term time only (39 weeks). Hourly rate of £8.78.

Applications are sought from candidates with experience in the following areas:

  • Motivation and enjoyment in working with children;
  • Knowledge of phonics and early reading, writing and maths skills;
  • A good working knowledge of different strategies to support learning;
  • Ability to convey infectious enthusiasm;
  • A willingness to reflect on and improve your own practice and take responsibility for your on-going development.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting class teachers in ensuring the well-being of every aspect of the child - physical, emotional, spiritual, mental;
  • Assist with preparation of resources etc. needed to support identified individuals or small groups;
  • Offer feedback to assist with future planning for identified pupils;
  • Be aware of and comply with all policies and procedures in school;
  • Contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school.
