About us

Lily Lane Primary School is an 'Outstanding' School!

We are very proud of our school and its achievements. Our shared vision is that every child will learn and succeed. We aim to educate the whole child in achieving not only academic success but physical, moral, cultural and emotional well-being. We do this by providing a broad and balanced curriculum so that children really can succeed and enjoy their education.

Lily Lane Primary School was built in 1904 and until recently operated as separate Infant and Junior Schools. In April 2012 the school became one primary school for children aged 3 to 11 years.

We are a two and a half form entry school with approximately 510 pupils on roll. We have a 60 place nursery, where children are taught in four groups of 15. Due to increasing pupil numbers we now have 3 classes in Reception and Year 1 with 2 classes in all other year groups. Teachers within the same year group meet regularly to jointly plan their lessons. We aim to provide a high standard of education within a caring and secure environment and we have a very committed and hard working staff to help achieve this.
