10 hours per week term time only

This post is to support a group of pupils within a mixed age Year 3/4 class. You will work under the guidance of teaching staff to support access to learning for pupils.

You will be able to support pupils by:

  • Encouraging children to engage in, and participate in learning activities lead by the class teacher.
  • Setting challenging expectations that encourage children to act independently and build self-esteem.
  • Providing feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance of the class teacher.

Applicants should possess an NVQ Level 3 qualification in teaching assistance or equivalent. Experience of supporting pupils with specific Literacy needs would be an advantage.

This post is a variable hours contract between 5 hours and 15 hours, initially for 10.00 hours per week.

This post is a fixed term contract to support a pupil in receipt of Pupil Premium funding and will end on 31st August 2015.

Please note that the successful candidate will be employed by the governing body, not Northumberland County Council.
