Teaching Assistant to support children with statements of educational needs (Hearing impairment & ASD)

Temporary in the first instance with possibility of permanent.

NMPS is a community school of some 360 pupils and growing. We are proud to have SEAL embedded across the school.

New Marston Primary School has achieved Investors in People Bronze Level. Our Mission Statement (Motivate.Enjoy.Achieve.) and our core values (enthusiasm, perseverance, teamwork and respect) are fundamental to our school. We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring TA to join our team.

This post has arisen due to the increase in hours assigned for children with statements. We need someone who can nurture & support pupils in their classroom whilst having the flexibility & confidence to find different ways to help them engage with their learning, both in and outside the classroom. The role may also involve leading some small group work.

The person we appoint must have good literacy and numeracy skills and experience of working with children, either in a paid or voluntary capacity. The successful candidate will need to be reliable, flexible and have the ability to work as part of a team and with children of different ages.

We are a friendly staff team dedicated to raising standards, while aiming to support the many and varied needs that our children present. If you feel you've got what it takes, we'd love to hear from you. Visits to the school are encouraged.

Apply online at www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/jobs or contact the school office for further details.

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.

Oxfordshire Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
