Job overview
An experienced Teaching Assistant working from five mornings and up to full time, to lead support for our children with English as an Additional Language.
Ideally, you will have extensive experience of working with children and families who are new to the country and have English as an Additional Language needs. It is likely that you will have experience of language development including progression in phonics. The small group you work with and lead aims to develop the rapid acquisition of knowledge, skills and experience so that children are able to be successfully phased into mainstream classes. You will be able to liaise effectively with other staff and Parents with a thorough knowledge of and the skills to ensure children and families are well supported. It is likely that you are familiar with a range of Intervention Strategies to assist with language development. You will be adept at working with the range of children across the Primary age range.
