An opportunity has arisen for an exceptional candidate to lead our team of outstanding teaching practitioners and quality support staff in order to maintain and build upon the College's reputation for providing an excellent learning experience for all our students.

The Teaching Excellence Hub is pivotal in ensuring we seek and share excellence in teaching and assessment practice and in supporting the College's Quality Improvement Cycle.

We are looking for an individual with a strong track record of success in their field and who exhibits the drive and determination to support colleagues in developing their own practice. In addition, the Teaching Excellence Hub Manager would be required to contribute substantially to quality improvement in all aspects of curriculum delivery.

You will be leading a highly supportive and committed team of professionals in ensuring that the wider teaching community has access to the support, effective technologies and resources required to enable them to deliver outstanding practice.

Skills and Experience:

You will have the confidence to build relationships with colleagues across the college including managers, teaching and support staff in order to influence improvements.

You will be able to demonstrate the ability to analyse and understand data sets in order to form judgements and suggest improvements.

You will be organised and self-motivated and able to prioritise workloads of your team.

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
