Job overview

Moulton is one of the UK's leading specialist Colleges providing education and training in the natural, built and recreational environments, from pre-entry to Postgraduate degree level. Moulton has experienced unprecedented growth and development over the last decade and is now one of the largest specialist colleges in the UK, with around 5500 student FTEs, 800 staff and a turnover in excess of £28.5 million p.a. With high levels of learner achievement and significant and continuous investment in resources, the College enjoys superb facilities within a rural environment.

The College judged by Ofsted to be 'Outstanding' in all areas; holds the Investor in People, Career Mark, Matrix and Basic Skills Agency awards, is a Centre of Vocational Excellence in Construction, holds LSIS Beacon Status, is a recognised Investor in Diversity and was ranked highly in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work in the Public Sector List for 2012.

We are currently recruiting for a Team Administrator to provide a first class administrative service based at the College's Management Centre and corporate training facility. Based just outside Moulton village (Gate 4), this role supports our corporate training provision including market leading Waste Management courses. You will be responsible for the day to day marketing and promotion of the centre; dealing with course enquiries in a timely and professional manner. You will liaise with Awarding Organisations, Assessors and Internal Verifiers to ensure prompt progress and completion of courses to ensure learners receive a first class service at all times. You will also undertake a range of administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of wider centre activities such as providing course information; arranging and administering short courses;  inputting key data onto the College's IT systems; and provide administrative support to the Management Centre team when required. You will also work closely with other team members to provide cover and support when necessary.

You will have a flexible approach to your work; excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate high standards of personal presentation appropriate to a corporate environment although a corporate uniform will be provided. In addition you will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to providing a first class customer experience and continuous improvement.  Although naturally a self-starter with an ability to work effectively on an individual basis, you will be a key player in a broader team and your ability to work effectively with others will be apparent. Ideally you will have experience of a similar role and be able to describe your experience of dealing with a broad range of customers.

The College offers a safe and supportive environment in which to study, together with a wide range of leisure and sporting facilities to help make your time at college a memorable and enjoyable experience.
Moulton College is one of the longest established Landbased Colleges in the country. This history of providing education and training gives the campus a unique feel, combining tradition with the latest and most up to date resources.

Although Moulton is no longer just a Landbased College, both the campus and the estate provide a pleasant rural environment, which is not only spacious and attractive, but provides an ideal environment in which to study.
The College is proud of its record since becoming an independent Further Education Corporation in 1992. The number of students has increased significantly, and the courses on offer now range from pre-entry through to degree and post-graduate level. Staffing breadth and expertise have increased, and the buildings and specialist resources are now amongst the best in Great Britain.

The College Estate extends to 485 Hectares, with a further 170 Hectares rented as grazing for the farm livestock. Much of the estate is farmed commercially and provides a realistic commercial resource for use by Land Management students. A number of other commercial activities are based on the estate, providing financial and production data for use by students, and the extensive sports facilities act as both a learning resource for undergraduates on sport programmes, and also a superb recreational resource for all students.
The Main Site is located on the edge of Moulton village, which provides students with easy access to the shops, post office, garage, pubs and Health Centre which are all within easy walking distance. A service bus runs from the centre of the village to Northampton and Kettering.

The Learning Resources Centre (including library and IT suite), Higher Education Centre, Residential Accommodation, Social Centre (including common rooms, bar and coffee shop), Student Welfare Centre and central Dining Room are all located on this site, as are the College’s Central Administration, Student Services, Shop and Transport Office.

The Main site is linked to the Holcot Centre by a footpath bordered by the Millennium Arboretum, which was planted in 2000 with the support of local organisations and businesses. The Holcot Centre is the base for Agriculture and Countryside, Horticulture, Animal Welfare, Furniture and Design Studies, Construction, and Floristry courses. The Centre has a range of high quality teaching rooms together with workshops and other specialist resources.
Located on this site are the Garden Centre, Veterinary Practice and Animal Therapy Centre which are open to the public throughout the year. All these resources exist to provide practical training for students in a realistic commercial environment.

There are two Coffee Shops on the site which serve hot and cold snacks, drinks and confectionery, and are open throughout the day and evening during full-time student terms.

Laboratories and IT suites complement the other facilities available at the Holcot Centre.
A wide range of sports facilities occupy the space between the Holcot and Pitsford Centre’s. These include two sports halls, complete with fitness suite, free weights gymnasium and climbing wall, and a range of specialist artificial and turf pitches catering for football, hockey, netball, rugby and tennis. The sports centre operates seven days a week throughout the calendar year and is heavily used both by students and by local sports clubs and associations.

The Pitsford Centre is the base for Equestrian Studies and Sports Studies courses, and is also the location of the dairy unit. High quality teaching rooms and excellent practical facilities are the hallmark of the Centre. The Restaurant, Study Centre and IT Suite mean that students based at this Centre have most of their needs catered for on site. The Equestrian Centre operates commercially to provide students with credible practical experience, and a new International size indoor riding arena and livery yard opened in the Autumn of 2006.
Lodge Farm is the focus of the College’s commercial farming activity and provides buildings for lambing, calf-rearing and grain storage. It also houses the College’s Management Centre, which provides a wide range of courses for local industry and commerce.

At South Lodge, Game and Fish Rearing facilities offer specialist training opportunities for Countryside students.
The various parts of the campus are linked by a hard cycle way and a shuttle bus service operates across the campus throughout the day.
