Job overview

UNICEF promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child, in everything we do. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere.

UNICEF UK's Programmes team works to ensure the realisation of children's rights within the UK, with a particular focus on embedding children's rights into government and institutions, with the greatest impact on children. UNICEF's flagship partnership with the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games has a vision to achieve greater change for children. As a result of the partnership, UNICEF UK is working on an exciting new interactive experience for children and young people - Child Rights Launchpad. We are looking for a Project Manager to lead on the phase 2 development of this experience.

In addition to the phase 2 development and promotion of the Launchpad to schools, you will build and maintain the delivery and resource partnership, collect case studies and stories, as well as supporting quality assurance and ongoing links to Curriculum for Excellence. You will also monitor delivery of the project, provide reports for funders and evaluate delivery and impact.

Having previously worked in a leadership position within a school, local authority or other equivalent organisation, you will have engaged with children and young people, involving them in decisions. With experience of project management, including quality assurance, you will also be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of Scotland's approach to the promotion of child rights.

Act now and visit www.unicef.org.uk/recruitment to apply online.

Closing date: 5pm Monday 1 September 2014.
It is anticipated that interviews will be held on Thursday 11 September 2014.

Equality and diversity are central to how we work and we welcome applications from a diverse range of candidates. We value diversity, respecting and drawing on different perspectives, skills, experience and knowledge.

The successful candidate will be required to apply for a Basic Disclosure from Disclosure Scotland. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with us. This will depend on the nature of the role and the circumstances of your offences.

We only accept online applications as this saves us money, making more funds available for us to help ensure children's rights. CVs will not be accepted.

If you require support in completing the online form or an application form in an alternative format, please contact Supporter Care on 0844 801 2414.

If you do not hear from us within 14 days of the closing date, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please note that we only provide feedback to shortlisted candidates.
