Mount Pellon Primary Academy will open in April 2013 in the same building as its predecessor school Mount Pellon Infant and Junior School in Calderdale which was placed in "special measures" by OFSTED in March 2012. The school is currently being led by a highly motivated executive interim team working in partnership with the school staff, Governors and Trust sponsors to bring about rapid improvements. This could be your opportunity to make a significant and measurable difference in improving the educational attainment of our children and young people.
The sponsor Northern Education Trust is now looking for a dynamic Vice Principal to help to provide strategic direction to meet ambitious targets for attainment and achievement. There are huge challenges in creating a new Academy. With the involvement of multiple stakeholders and high expectations in the local community, there's a need for real vision, commitment and a clear focus on delivery. It will be a reinvigorated and innovative learning environment, where children and young people are encouraged to develop skills that will truly equip them for life and where the area is supported in community regeneration.
You will join a newly appointed Principal and together you will undertake the launch phase of the Academy as well as developing and implementing an innovative curriculum policy.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong leadership background in primary education to take on a considerable challenge and deliver tangible results by working in close partnership with Northern Education and their school improvement experts. Ideally you will have excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
