The Governors and Principal of Abbeyfield School are looking for an inspirational Vice Principal to play a key role in the Senior Leadership Team leading Curriculum and Teaching. As Vice Principal, working with the Principal, you will be a driver of continued and sustained improvement to deliver outstanding teaching, learning and achievement across the whole academy. This will be supported by a cutting edge curriculum, the development of which you will lead.

Abbeyfield School is an exciting place to work. In 2013 we were designated one of the top 60 improving schools in the county. Our students are ambitious and making fantastic progress. This is the result of the excellent teachers leading learning in our school.

The school is located to the South of Northampton and serves a diverse community. Currently it has in excess of 1300 students from Year 7 to Year 13 and is growing in popularity for both entry in Year 7 and to Sixth Form. We employ over 150 staff; this includes teaching, support and administration staff.

We are looking for an exceptional, innovative and energetic leader with a successful track record in leading teaching and learning, quality assurance, improving outcomes and raising standards. You will be excited by the possibilities of the curriculum opportunities that underpin achievement. The role of Vice Principal - Curriculum and Teaching encompasses:

  • Curriculum Research and Development
  • Curriculum entitlement and design
  • Alternative provision
  • SEN
  • Admissions
  • Strategic development of teaching Years 7-11
  • Monitoring of teaching and progress
  • School and subject review and cycle
  • Examination

Abbeyfield School, part of the Creative Education Trust, is an 11-18 school, predominately serving the South East of Northampton.
