Writtle College is seeking to appoint an effective strategic, operational and financial manager to play a crucial role in enabling and supporting the overall mission and development of the College, as it builds on recent Ofsted success and moves towards obtaining taught degree awarding powers (TDAP).

Reporting to the Principal & CEO, as part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), you will keep the Governing Body and relevant Committees informed with respect to the College's financial health and performance, enabling the SMT and Board of Governors to make timely decisions to effectively govern and manage the College.

You will be responsible for a number of commercial and support service functions, be charged with seeking to maximise the efficiency of funding opportunities and the generation of 3rd stream income. The role will also lead the financial management of resources and information, ensuring quality, integrity and transparency feature strongly within a clear, robust financial strategy, and provide leadership in risk management.

To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have excellent leadership skills and experience at senior management level, with the ability to coach, direct, motivate and inspire colleagues through the application of excellent communication and influencing skills. Experience of financial management and reporting, with a qualification to at least degree level, supported by an accounting/financial accreditation, or an ability to demonstrate the equivalent through experience, are required.
