7.5 months fixed term contract (secondment cover)

The Creative Learning Visual and Cross Arts Producer will be responsible for leading and delivering the Barbican's Visual Arts and Design learning programme and for producing cross arts projects and festivals for the duration of this secondment cover.

Creative Learning develops and delivers a range of world-class creative learning programmes involving music, theatre, visual arts, cinema, dance and literature across the Barbican Centre and Guildhall School of Music & Drama. This all happens in close collaboration with our other resident and associate companies, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Boy Blue Entertainment, Cheek by Jowl, Jazz at the Lincoln Center, Michael Clark Dance Company, Serious and CREATE, as well as our East London and City Cultural Partnership.

You should have a comprehensive understanding of arts education and good practice in working with different participant groups. You should also possess strong business skills, including experience in partnership management, and bring a thorough understanding of the education sector. Your experience will encompass working with artists and designers to deliver innovative learning and participation experiences, and you will be an accomplished communicator and people manager.

A degree or equivalent experience in Visual Arts or a related subject is essential. You will need to have substantial experience working in a Visual Arts environment or education within an arts organisation. You also need to have a significant experience of designing and delivering innovative visual arts and design education projects to world-class standard.
