We are looking for caring, creative and enthusiastic people to join our passionate and dedicated team within our new supported living service in Flitwick, providing support to adults with learning disabilities.

It is our expectation at MacIntyre that our Support Workers play a key role in developing the independence of the individuals that we support in every aspect of their lives.  You will be comfortable to support individuals, emotionally and physically alongside the providing personal care and domestic support as required.

We work hard to ensure that the people we support are active members of their community, so you should be prepared to fully participate in their favoured activities and hobbies.  For example the people supported in this service enjoy attending college, horse riding, football, swimming, dancing, karaoke, DIY (including supporting the safe use of power tools), shopping, visiting the farm/zoo, dog walking, caring for pets and bike rides  There may even be opportunities to support individuals on day trips and holidays, whatever the person you are supporting chooses to do.

The support of the individuals in this service is tailored to meet their personal needs and aspirations, as such you will be required to look for new ways of assisting the people we support enabling them to achieve the things that they want to achieve within their lives, contributing to the creation of those person centred plans and their ongoing development.

It is MacIntyre's belief that a good Support Worker has the right behaviours and attitude for the role and that experience is not always necessary.  So whether you are a currently working within the Social Care sector or are considering a career in Social Care we would welcome you to get in touch.

It will be important that you can demonstrate a flexible approach to work as you will be required to work shifts on a rota, including weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.

It is essential for this position that you hold a full manual driving license which allows you to drive in the UK, as you will be required to drive service vehicles.

Salaries are dependent on successful completion of a probation period and in some cases relevant qualifications.  Part time and term time only positions are pro rata.
