About us
Our school is a voluntary aided Roman Catholic Primary School serving the parish of Sacred Heart and St. Francis, Gorton. It is located in an inner city area of Manchester which is well below average in all socio - economic aspects. Pupils come from a wide variety of backgrounds with parents ranging from those in full time professional employment to those whose families have been unemployed for several generations.

There are currently 230 pupils on roll. We feel privileged to have 49% percent of our pupils who speak English as an additional language and 64% of pupils from an ethnic minority group. Our children speak 38 different languages between them.

We are proud of the fantastic progress our children make and the wonderful relationships we have with our families. We have recently been invited to be an EAL hub school so that we can share our successes with other schools.

We are always looking to find creative and exciting ways to bring learning alive. We think it is imperative that our children are given new experiences and are taught through fun and laughter wherever possible. We try to ensure that we celebrate every individual success and foster a sense of family and belonging with our school community.
