Values and vision

Ifield Community College wants all students to leave fully prepared for the next stage of their life after leaving the school. It focuses on nurturing them into ambitious, confident, enthusiastic, resilient individuals. The school wishes for pupils to practice self-discipline and respect themselves and each other, regardless of their beliefs and differences. Ifield Community College’s vision is for pupils to achieve to the highest of their abilities and excel in all that they do. This Crawley secondary school works to create an enriching curriculum and opportunities that extend beyond the classroom through a wide range of enrichment activities. These range from sports clubs to drama class, while educational trips are organised to further pupils understanding, experience and interests. These have included visits to Venice, the Imperial War Museum, Ypres 'Battlefields' and The Hawth Theatre.

“Teachers are real experts in their subject. They work well together to share their knowledge and support their planning. Subject-specific training encourages them to think about their teaching and how pupils learn. Content is revisited to aid retention. Marking and assessment are frequent, diagnostic and help pupils to make progress”.
