Aston University Mathematics School (AUMS) is part of the family of Mathematics Schools across the UK as part of the governments commitment to not only empower students to pursue successful careers but also address the growing demand for skilled professional in booming sectors such as engineering, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. Based on Aston University Campus, who sponsor the school, AUMS is adjacent to its sister school Aston University Engineering Academy www.auea.co.uk

We are seeking a passionate and committed Mathematics leader to work alongside the Executive Principal in the development of this incredible institution.

One of its kind in the West Midlands and on track to open in September 2025, AUMS will initially recruit 75, increasing to 200, students from across the region. One of the main aims of the school is to help widen participation from underrepresented groups.

In addition to working with their own pupils, maths schools undertake significant outreach work with those in surrounding schools and colleges, giving priority to groups such as disadvantaged pupils and girls. Find out more at uMaths - the University Maths Schools Network

As well as our own outstanding facilities, our location next to our sponsor Aston University means that we can access resources, teaching and learning spaces like no other school. We are looking for an innovative and creative Mathematics or Applied Mathematics specialist who is passionate about promoting and inspiring future Mathematicians and STEM learners. This role will suit an school senior leader or aspiring senior leader, who is ready to learn and develop their leadership of a school under the guidance and support of both an Executive Principal and alongside the Head of School for Aston University Sixth Form and Engineering Academy
