About the role:

Are you a great Teacher of Art/Dance/Drama/Music looking to make a career enhancing move into leadership or an experienced middle leader looking for a career-defining challenge?  Healing Academy has a proud history of being an outstanding school and providing wonderful education to this fantastic community. Our Academy achieves the best results in the region every year and we are significantly above the national average, something we are proud to shout about. At Healing we believe in investing in a broad and balanced curriculum offer and we know the Arts are central to this. As a result, we are looking to create this new post of Head of The Arts, bringing together the different specialisms under one umbrella with a singular vision of providing outstanding opportunities to our students.

Up until now, Music, Dance and Drama have been standalone subjects with Art bundled in with the Technology faculty. Moving forward, we want to create this unified team of Arts subjects that work together with a common purpose, a desire to raise the profile of the Arts, a passion for extracurricular performances and a commitment to work with the local community. Healing is an aspirational and ambitious community that wants its children to experience a rich and varied curriculum, and we believe that high quality Arts provision is at the centre of this vision.

As this is a new post and a new team, this is an amazing opportunity for the right candidate to build and grow something very special. If you know you can build close-knit teams, create a compelling vision for the Arts in our community, produce outstanding learning opportunities and give our students experiences they will never forget, then we want to hear from you.

The school is full of wonderful students and creative staff and, pulling together in the right direction, there is no limit to what we can achieve together.  We know our students are amazing and in this close-knit community we need teachers who can support and challenge our students to thrive.  We don’t recognise any limits to what our students or staff can achieve and we pride ourselves on providing excellent support and development for our teaching staff, at whatever stage of their career they are at. Our successful candidate will be enthusiastic and highly motivated, with a passion for their subject, strong values, and a desire to work closely with colleagues to get the best out of every student. This is truly a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and passionate teacher and leader to make a real impact within this department and the wider Academy.
